AirBNB: What it’s Really Like

We live in a world where borders are more and more erased with every day that goes by. Millennials are changing the way they work and they are changing the way we all live our lives. They travel more, they are more well-informed than their parents and they are more keen on making their dreams come true.

AirBNB came as an almost natural stop in the development of things. With more people travelling short-to-medium term, a service that intermediates between renters and landlords in touristic areas was more than welcomed – and AirBNB knew this too well.

What is it really like to stay at an AirBNB, though? What are the advantages and the disadvantages of choosing an AirBNB over a hostel or hotel? We have gathered some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

The Pros of Staying at an AirBNB

In general, it can be said that the benefits of AirBNB exceed the disadvantages. First and foremost, an AirBNB will offer you much more for much less money than a hotel room. There will be more space, the rooms are going to be cozier (and frequently better decorated), you will most likely have a kitchen where you can cook your own food and, on top of it all, you will have all this for a ;price that’s much lower than a hotel room

Furthermore, AirBNBs are great for people who want to experience a country off the touristic path. If you are willing to let go of downtown hotels and see the location you are visiting through the eyes of the locals, an AirBNB will be a truly amazing option.

Are There Any Disadvantages?

Like with everything else in this world, AirBNB does come with its fair share of disadvantages too. However, as mentioned before, they tend to be outnumbered by the good range of benefits an AirBNB can offer.

One of the most frequently disadvantages associated with this type of travel accommodation is related to the fact that some of the apartments and houses offered on AirBNB are not like they look in the pictures – so they can be a disappointment for someone who pays for them.

Furthermore, some people may find it a disadvantage to stay very far away from the touristic path, as they are most likely not as willing to walk, bike or move too much to see some of the most popular attractions.

All in all though, AirBNBs are a great idea for a wide range of travellers and they can provide you with a serious number of benefits too. The most important thing is to check with the reviews left by other travellers and keep your eyes open. Anything that seems too cheap for what it offers is most likely a scam of some kind. Just like with most of the other purchases, what sounds too good to be true is probably not true at all – so just keep yourself open and read twice before making the final call.
