Planning to travel this year? If you’re anything like me, the idea of long airport security lines, expensive hotels, Uber and taxi rides, and constant packing and unpacking probably isn’t your idea of a good time. So what do you do when you’re determined to see the world but hate the actual exercise of getting from Point A to Point B?
You take a cruise.
If you’re looking for a stress-free vacation where all the hard work is done for you, cruising is the way to go. Whether you want to embark on a cruise from Southampton, or prefer to choose a different city to embark on your cruise, there are thousands of options available.
One of the best things about cruising? You pay for the majority of your costs upfront. This means you can truly relax, without continually opening your wallet while you’re travelling. When you book your cruise, you can choose whether you’d like to book day trips, add drinks packages, and pay for your gratuities in advance. If you’re someone who likes to know exactly how much you should expect to pay before you travel, this is a great option for you.
Unlike flights, cruises also don’t need to be paid in full at the time of booking. You can book your cruise and then pay it off over a number of months, as long as the total is paid by the due date.
Cruises can also be a completely all-inclusive way to travel. This makes it much easier to stick to a budget when you’re travelling. Your accommodation, transportation, food, and entertainment are all included. And the food is high-quality, with plenty of choices at mealtimes and snacks throughout the day. The entertainment is also top-notch, with kids clubs to keep the kids busy during the day, childcare options at night, and plenty of fun for adults, including spas, gyms, libraries, movie theatres, broadway-style shows, casinos, nightclubs, bars, and cafes.
Unlike travelling by yourself, when you often need to catch public transportation or get a cab from each hotel, you’ll be transported to and from each city- often while you’re sleeping. I can think of nothing better than waking up in a new, exciting destination, without having to actually get myself there. And during the days where you’re at sea, you can spend the whole time relaxing- whether that means lying by the pool with a drink in your hand, checking out the onboard shops, or making use of the exercise facilities.
