If you haven’t yet taken a holiday in Florida, this year is the year to make it happen. Florida has something to offer everyone, especially if you’re someone who loves screaming your lungs out on rollercoasters.
I’ve been on holiday to Florida twice, and both times I had an incredible time. The first time I was just 18, so spend the day at Disney World hanging out with Minnie and Mickey Mouse. Unfortunately, since I was underage I didn’t get to check out any of the good bars, but I made up for it the next time I went.
I visited Florida again when I was 22 and living in Chicago. I was desperate to escape the cold, so we planned a trip, grabbed last minute tickets, and stayed at my friend’s host parents house in Fort Lauderdale. We went to the Everglades to check out the alligators which I absolutely loved (they’re much smaller than crocodiles and less likely to attack humans). We had cocktails in great restaurants, went shopping in Miami, lay on the beach, and, to my delight, went back to Orlando.
You’re never too old for Orlando, and I’ll definitely be visiting again soon. We spent two days exploring Universal Studios, and even though I had the worst cold in the world (something that wasn’t fun when I was upside down on the rollercoasters), I loved every minute of it.
Adventure World is the best if you can’t get enough of crazy rides, but I truly loved both parks. One thing I would highly recommend is to . This will make it so much easier for you to feel relaxed about the experience when you arrive, and you’ll save tons of time compared to the people who have to line up with their tickets.
You can also save money by purchasing your tickets ahead of time since many websites have great deals and offers throughout the year.
If you are planning to head to the theme parks, do yourself a favour and stay close by. Many of the hotels close to the park have shuttles throughout the day so you can get dropped off right at the theme parks that you want to go to, and you don’t need to worry about finding a park (or paying for parking).
It’s also a good idea to make sure you eat a nice big, filling breakfast before you go to the parks. The food within the theme parks is known for how unhealthy it is, and it’s also super expensive (plus there are long lines). Your best bet is to eat a massive breakfast at your hotel, grab a snack or two throughout the day, and eat lunch at the park, before heading back to your hotel for dinner.
As you can see, there are many reasons why you should take a holiday to Florida, but if you love theme parks then it’s time to plan a trip!
