Fun Things to do in Orlando

Orlando is a great place to visit, not only are there a bunch of cool theme parks near by, but the weather is usually good year round, and there’s a ton of great shopping malls including outlet malls. It’s a destination that can suit the whole family and you will find it’s a bit cheaper to visit Florida than going to California, for example. There’s lots of fun things to do in Orlando, read one for some more inspiration:

1. Visit SeaWorld
Whether you’re old or young, there’s something enchanting about seeing animals you wouldn’t usually be able to see because they’re so far below water. From dolphins to sharks, there’s so much to see here. This is a great place to go as a family as you will entertain the whole family in one place. If you’re planning a trip to Florida, don’t forget to go to SeaWorld Orlando.

2. Go on a Road Trip
There’s lots of beautiful places around Orlando that are wonderful to discover, from the numerous gorgeous beaches to a quick nip down to Miami if you’re missing the big city life. If you have a few days to spare, I would really suggest talking the trip down to Florida Keyes, it’s absolutely stunning and there’s a wonderful Cuban influence down there which makes for very interesting food. Don’t forget to try a Key Lime Pie when you’re down low.

3. Hit Up Harry Potter World
Who doesn’t love Harry Potter? It’s a book series that managed to charm generations and the Harry Potter Movies only served to solidify the obsession that most felt for anything Harry Potter. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is very cool, from Butter Beer that is surprising addictive to some of the newest rides around the world, it’s easy to spend two or three days exploring these parks. This is probably the best destination for a Harry Potter lover in the whole world.

4. If you’re visiting from overseas, you may be surprised by how good the shopping is in the United States. Coming from Australia, many of the clothes are 50% cheaper or more in the Outlet malls when compared to back home. My favourite outlet mall in the Orlando area is: Orlando Premium Outlets – Vineland Avenue, but be warned you can easily spend a day or two here. My secret tip is to take a small, empty suitcase to fill up with your bags so you don’t have to carry them around! Just be mindful you may have to leave the suitcase with sales staff while you try clothes on, so it may be better to do this when traveling with a friend or partner so they can take care of the suitcase while you shop your heart out!

Holidays are always a great time, but choosing a destination like Orlando that is kind on the wallet but filled with lots of great attractions is a smart decision!
